Photographers As Storytellers: Now On View at The Arlo Wynwood
Presented by 1905 Contemporary, Photographers as Storytellers is now on view at The Arlo Wynwood, Miami. The exhibition brings together Tyler Shields, Jeffrey Czum, and Nick Mele, whose work centers on narrative, emotion, and the moments that sit just beneath the surface of an image.
The exhibition opened with an evening that felt energetic, conversational, and fun. Guests gathered throughout the space for conversation, drinks, and a brief panel discussion that explored intuition, process, and how storytelling plays a role in each artist’s work. The atmosphere was relaxed and social, allowing the work to speak naturally within the flow of the night.
On view are cinematic photographs by Tyler Shields, whose images often feel pulled from a larger scene, charged with tension and suggestion. Jeffrey Czum presents works drawn from everyday American settings, reimagined through his use of text and unexpected visual elements that subtly shift meaning and tone. Nick Mele’s photographs offer a lighter counterpoint, capturing moments of leisure and spontaneity with a sharp eye for composition and humor.
Together, the exhibition highlights photography as a medium that goes beyond surface-level imagery, inviting viewers to consider context, intention, and what might exist just outside the frame.
Thank you to all the collectors who joined us for this wonderful evening!
Photographers as Storytellers will remain on view at Arlo Wynwood through the end of March. Private viewings and exhibition catalog requests can be arranged via email at info@1905contemporary.com.
